Former long serving Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott is dead.
Biwott died on Tuesday at a Nairobi Hospital following a long illness.
He was 77 years at the time of his death.
Biwott's body has been moved to the Lee Funeral Home.
Popularly known as "The Total Man" was a prominent Kenyan businessman and politician.
Born in 1940 in Keiyo District in the former Rift Valley Province, Biwott went to school at Tambach Intermediate School (1951-54) and Kapsabet High School (1955-58) before gaining a Bachelor of Commerce (1964) and a Masters in Economics (1968) from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
After a long stint in the civil service, Biwott served as a Member of Parliament where he held several senior ministerial and government posts in the 1970s, 80s and 90s.
He served under Kenya's first three presidents, Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
Until his death, he was the leader of the National Vision Party after serving as a long-time KANU member.
