NASA leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday officially announced his withdrawal from the October 26 repeat presidential elections.

Speaking at the Okoa Kenya offices in Lavington, Nairobi flanked by NASA leaders led by his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, Odinga cited IEBC's failure to meet its "irreducible minimums" as the main reason for his withdrawal.

Odinga cited the lack of commitment by IEBC to "clean house".

"IEBC does not intend to effect changes in operations, staff to ensure irregularities that led to nullification addressed," Odinga stated.

Odinga said that the NASA coalition had come to the conclusion that there is no intention by IEBC to undertake any changes to its operations and personnel.

"IEBC does not intend to effect changes in operations, staff to ensure irregularities that led to nullification addressed," Odinga added.

The NASA leader also cited the Jubilee administration's amendment to the Electoral laws which he said demonstrated that they are not committed to a credible election.

"Considering the people's interest, we believe it would be best for NASA to vacate and withdraw from the repeat election," Odinga affirmed.
