Citizen TV Anchor set to exit

He is said to have resigned

Citizen TV Swahili news anchor Salim Swaleh is set to leave the S. K. Macharia owned Royal Media Services (RMS)

According to Business Today, Salim is set for a low profile exit after tendering in his resignation last week, after a deal that conflicted with his job went sour.

It is however not clear where he is headed.

Sonko-Kibicho spat

It is reported that Mr. Swaleh may have found himself in the recent fights between Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.

Salim Swaleh was allegedly used by Governor Sonko to fix the Interior PS by recording him saying negative things about the Nairobi governor.

After recording Kibicho at his office, Salim is said to have given the tape to Sonko who immediately called a press conference.

PS Kibicho is then said to have called RMS bosses to report what had happened.

The two (Sonko and Kibicho) have been at loggerheads, with Sonko accusing the PS of undermining him.
