They is a new wave sweeping over Tanzania, the wave of colour.
We have seen many artistes from the 255 embrace colour in their hair with Ali Kiba dyeing his hair red, Ommy Dimpoz went blonde, Ben Pol went green and Vanessa Mdee went orange.
Bright orange.
Out of these looks, Vanessa’s has been most drastic as we are used to seeing her in long weaves and her new look has elicited a number of reactions.
Some like the eccentric look while others are just not feeling Vanessa’s new look and have made their feelings known. But not to a silent Vanessa who was very swift with the clap back.
After fighting off the critics, Vanessa expressed her exasperation with those trying to micro-manage her life with a post that read “Tatizo la wengi mmekariri kila kitu hadi nywele mnataka kunipangia nikiwa na nywele za kuvaa mnasema, nikivua mnasema, sasa nasemaje Beni amefarijika.”
