Top NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu has threatened to resign if Inspector General Joseph Boinnet fails to take action against police brutality that was witnessed at the University of Nairobi.
According to the anchor it is unacceptable for police officers to invade the school compound and teargas students in their hostels.
"As a Kenyan citizen I am taking a moral high ground on police brutality. After watching several of the video especially of the police tear gassing students in their hostel, I am asking the IG Boinnet to take action on the police within 7 days, arrest and prosecute. If he doesn’t I will resign.” Said Mijungu in a Facebook Post
He added that he is tired of reporting on the same things over and over again and those in authority are not taking action.
“There is no moral obligation to continue reporting on the same thing time and again without translating to something. It’s useless and frustrating.” Said Ken Mijungu

Mr Boinnet told a live TV broadcast on Sunday that his department had launched a thorough investigation into the “allegations of use of force.”
On Monday the University of Nairobi said that 27 students were injured after police raided the main campus to quell protests on Thursday last week and denied death reports.
The post elicited mixed reactions among social media users with others calling him an attention seeker while others saluted him for him bold message to the Boinnet.
