Man jailed for lacing wife's underwear with pepper

He claimed to be 'only making fun' of his wife

The Magistrates Court in Lira District has sentenced a man to 40 days of community service after finding him guilty of smearing his wife’s knickers with red pepper

The Lira Grade One Magistrate Hilary Kiwanuka convicted Moses Okello, a resident of Barmola village, Bala Sub County in Kole District on Thursday, February 1.

Okello smeared his wife’s underwear with red pepper without her knowledge and persuaded her to wear them.

He said he admired me more in that underwear whenever I wore it. He then encouraged me to put it on that day.

Okello pleaded guilty, saying he was only “making fun of his wife”.
