The much-anticipated World Cup is finally here and Nigeria’s Super Eagles have already won - Fashion-wise.
The team which has been put in group D alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia probably stands no chance of winning but oh well, we gotta give them props for being one of the few African countries that qualified for the World Cup 2018. The world fell in love with the Nigerian World Cup kit the minute it was released. In fact, the kit sold out minutes after being released by Niketown London.
The much-publicized kit featured printed jerseys, floral as well as plain tracksuits, complete with a bucket hat - all having hues of green to represent Nigerian colors. Top Nigerian artistes and influencers were quick to cop themselves the kit and style it the best way they know how.
Unfortunately, Nike announced that they have no plans to restock the kit, albeit, the dealers in counterfeit products have been working day and night to make sure that the knock off jerseys are available to you in due time.
But just when we thought we had seen it all, the Super Eagles had more up their sleeves. The team landed in Russia on Tuesday in utmost sartorial elegance, nearly breaking the internet. The team’s World Cup travel outfit was an ode to traditional Nigerian male attire, featuring long shirts with an eagle print on the chest, paired with matching white pants, stylish mules and accessorized with fedoras - the ultimate all-white swag.
