Kenya and South Africa are leading in the luxury hotel sector growth within Africa. This was highlighted in a report issued by World Travel Market (WTM) London in conjunction with Euromonitor International.
The organisation has been releasing the report called Top 100 Cities Destination Ranking 2017 for the past ten years.
It has shown Kenya has growing interest with luxury hotel chains with the highest seen entries in Africa. Already Accor, HIlton and Carlson Rezzidor are here.
There are 19 upcoming hotels in the country.
The report also showed the cities that had the most visitors in the world with Hong Kong and Bangkok, Thailand topping the list.
In Africa, Johannesburg was ranked highest at no. 37, Cairo, Egypt ranked no. 62 and Marrakech, Morocco ranked no. 79.
Kenya is expected to witness improvement in the luxury travel sector despite political tension in certain parts of the country.
