Body of Missing University Student found in Mt. Kenya Forest

The Body of a 21 year Old university student who went missing about a year ago has been found dead in MT Kenya Forest.

The decomposed body of Yvonne Mwendwa who went missing with her boyfriend Dennis Kirimi was founds in Mt Kenya Forest by game warders on Friday after 11 month search.

According to the mother of the girl who confirmed the discovery, said that it was true the body has been found.

“It is true. We were informed and I saw the body” said Ms Jadrine Kanyua the mother of the girl

Yvonne who was a student at Kiringanga University disappeared together with her boyfriend Dennis Kirimi while hiking at Mt Kenya on September 30, 2016.

Wildlife officers who found the body, said that only one body was found and therefore they are still searching for the boyfriend.

“My officers reported only finding one body and the crime scene from the directorate of criminals investigations were called in for further probe. “Said Senior Warden Simon Gitau

The cause of the death is not clear despite the two leaving behind a suicide note in the room they shared before disappearing.

Friends to Yvonne dismissed the suicide note saying it was not her handwriting.

The father of Dennis Kirimi. Mr. Livingstone Kirimi said that his son had told him that he was going to shot a music video but never returned home.

Dennis was a student at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication in South B Nairobi.
