Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

The 39-year-old disclosed that another weakness he had as a CEO was that he gave people many chances.

“I think I gave a lot of people the benefit of doubt. When I got there, there are certain changes that we needed to have affected at a certain time to strengthen the organization that didn’t happen.

“So people think that I was too slow in making certain decisions that were critical at the time but on reflection, it is just the idea that you want to give each person a chance. People can be better,” he said when asked about his weaknesses as IEBC CEO.

Chiloba maintained that he followed the law to the core during the just concluded General election.

“If I were to do it again, I would do the same, same thing,” he stated.

The father of two divulged that the process taught him that politicians were not reliable people.

"While advising the next IEBC CEO Mr. Chiloba said: Never ever receive praise from a politician because they’ll abandon you the next day. A politician doesn’t love you, there’s nothing like that. It’s self-interest," Chiloba said.

He further noted that it would take a lot of soul-searching for him to ever join politics.

"I’ve interacted with politicians, I see how they behave, I know who they are… seriously, okay, should I do the same things? It will take lots of introspection to come to a conclusion that I’m actually headed into politics," Chiloba stated.
