Chaos erupted in Mlolongo area on Mombasa Road Wednesday morning after Machakos County’s fire fighters delayed to respond to a fire break out.
The protesters took to the busy highway and blocked both sides of the road.
Speaking to Nairobi news, Joseph Githoro, an official from Nairobi County Disaster Management said that when fire has been and they can access it, they answer such calls.
“When there is fire and we can access it we then we do give our services. Fire broke out in Mavoko but we arrived before those of Machakos County,” Githoro said.
Mavoko added that they responded to the call despite the fact that Mavoko is an area beyond their operational territory.
