Blow to Uhuru after latest Court ruling

President Uhuru signed the controversial Bill into law last week

President Uhuru Kenyatta has suffered a major blow, after the latest High Court ruling on the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act 2018.

The High Court on Tuesday suspended 25 sections of the Act that was recently signed into Law by President Uhuru.

The suspension comes after the Bloggers Association of Kenya sued the Attorney-General, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Inspector-General of Police and the Director of Public Prosecution over the controversial Law.

They claimed that the law contains provisions which deny, infringe and threaten freedom of expression of the media and persons besides the right to privacy, property and fair hearing.
