Jaguar Reveals Why There is Increased Crime in Nairobi

Something needs to be done quickly

Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar has revealed the main cause to increased crime in Nairobi city.

In a statement, the singer turned politician said that most offenders walk free due lack of enough evidence and lack of complaints to have them locked up.

“I urge all city dwellers to be more vigilant and report any acts of robbery or violence. Most offenders are released back into the streets owing to lack of sufficient evidence or complainants to have them convicted,” he said.

The legislator called on all concerned authorities to step up efforts in curbing the recent mugging incidents witnessed in the streets of Nairobi that have seen residents lose property worth hundreds of thousands.

He also called on the police to be more understanding when such cases are brought to them by the general public to avoid fear of harassment or victimization.

“Security is paramount to every Kenyan as enshrined in our constitution,” he added.

This comes in the wake of recent reports that have seen people lose property to organized gangs ranging from cash, electronic gadgets and beauty accessories.

He appealed to the National government through the Ministry of youth to restore youth empowerment programs such as NYS that was able to employ more than 34,000 youth who are now jobless owing to its closure.
