Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has unveiled a new team that will manage the communications docket including social media accounts.
Sonko picked renowned journalists with vast experience in the media industry to spearhead the docket.
K24’s Reporter Job Mwaura has been appointed as the Director of the governor’s press service. Mwaura will be deputized by Richard Bosire, an editor at Radio Citizen.
Sonko alos picked Mukami Kamau to head the County Public communications docket. Ms Kamau had a similar capacity in the previous Kiambu County Government and is the sister to Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe.
Jacob Elkana, a Star Newspaper Reporter based in Kilifi has been tasked to deputize Ms Mukami.
Others in Sonko’s communication team include, Sara Ndung’u from People Daily who will head the Media Liason docket. Willam Okoth will be the speech writer.

Photographers include; Issa Kabuchi and Kevin Odhiambo while Videography will be handled by Boaz Odundo and Nicholas Maina.
Social Media will be under John Mwangi Maina with Allan Wafula as his deputy. The social team will comprise of six members.
Sonko alos nominated six advisors with executive committee member for environment John Gakuo taking over as the advisor for urban planning, environment and urban renewal.
Githende Gachanja is the economic advisor while Alphone Mutinda will be the legal advisor and Abel Onchari as his political advisor.
The communication advisor will be Antony Otieno with Kamau Mugo heading the delivery unit with Joseph Ireri as his deputy.
