Confusion at Bomas [Photos]

No information has been provided to the media.

The IEBC has caused confusion among local and international media after it went for more than twelve hours without offering any new information on the repeat presidential election.

At the media center, journalists were stranded with no information forthcoming from the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati or any of his officials.

At the last briefing, Chebukati had announced an estimated turn out of 48 percent but later issued a contradictory figure on his unverified twitter account.

"The 48 percent was Best estimated turnout from the team. Latest actual figures from the 267 constituencies show 6,553,858 Kenyans turned out to vote," he tweeted.

A spot check by Pulselive.co.ke showed most of the IEBC officials busy working on various election documents.

By the time of publishing this result, IEBC communication officials had announced that a press briefing would be happening "soon".
