Joho's daring message to Jubilee after crackdown on NASA leaders

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has declared that he will not be surrendering his passport, even after the governments threat to suspend it.

Speaking on Wednesday to the press, Joho made it clear that he had not received any official communication of the suspension or revocation of his passport.

"Even if, and when, the order is made, I will not hand it over," The Star reports him saying.

He insisted that he got his passport through the proper channels and will resist any attempts to have it taken away.

"Let them dare," he said.

The government seems to be conducting a systematic "crackdown" on National Super Alliance coalition members who were involved in the swearing in of coalition leader Raila Odinga as "People's President" on January 30th.

Already, Miguna Miguna was deported to Canada on Wednesday following obscure charges of treason and a controversial arrest from his Runda home on Friday.

The inspector general is facing contempt of court charges after he failed to avail Miguna in the Milimani Law courts on Monday and Tuesday.

Nasa strategist David Ndii, Siaya senator James Orengo, former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama, Homa Bay woman representative Gladys Wanga and businessman James Wanjigi are among those who also had their passports targeted.
