Kalonzo, Mudavadi, Wetangula to form new coalition

The coalition will formally be launched this Saturday during a rally at Kakamega.

NASA Principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are set to form their own coalition which will be known as the NASA Alliance.

The principals who are party leaders of the Wiper Party, Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya will have their first rally in Kakamega on Saturday March 17, 2018 to drum up support among the three parties who will officially launch the NASA Alliance.

"The three parties members will discuss and strategies the way forward in which they will choose and support one leader who will run for presidential position in 2022 general election or among the members; discussion and decision: the parties will decide on whether to support another strong party candidate through an alliance agreed and signed among the parties," a statement signed by Lugari MP and ANC Deputy party leader Ayub Savula.

On Thursday, the three principals held a consultative meeting in Nairobi following the attempted coup in the Senate where ODM Senators ganged up to eject Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader and have him replaced by Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Musyoka and Mudavadi sent out a statement after the meeting where they declared their unwavering support for Wetangula.

"The principals have reaffirmed their total confidence in Hon Wetang’ula as the official leader of the minority in Senate. Their support for Wetang’ula in this regard is unwavering," the statement read.
