Kalonzo’s return to Kenya cancelled after new development in Germany

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s return to the country was on Tuesday cancelled at the last minute to a technical hitch.

Citizen Digital reported its sources indicating that Musyoka had planned to leave Germany on Monday evening but could not do so after he missed his flight.

The former Vice President was expected to attend the burial of his political ally, deceased Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze.

Speaking to Pulselive.co.ke, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior confirmed that Musyoka could not make it to Nyenze’s burial since he had not arrived in country by 10am.

Nyenze is set to be buried on Tuesday at his rural home in Kabati, Kitui West.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is also expected to miss the burial and will instead be represented by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.

NASA leader Raila Odinga is expected to lead a team of Opposition leaders in laying to rest the soft spoken legislator.

Among those who are expected at the ceremony include NASA co-principals Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi. Host Governor Charity Ngilu will also be in attendance.
