NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has made some rather surprising accusations against his coalition leader Raila Odinga.
Mudavadi has accused Odinga of tricking NASA co-principals to miss the controversial mock oathing ceremony held at Uhuru Park on January 30.
Mudavadi, who is also the Amani National Congress Party Leader, gave a version of events that sharply contradicted the explanation that was offered by Odinga when he was sworn in as the People’s President.
Unavoidable circumstances
When the NASA leader took oath on January 30, he claimed that the NASA principals had been unable to join him due to unavoidable circumstances
The ANC Party Leader, however, told a group of Luhya elders that Odinga had sneaked into Uhuru Park even as his co-principals were waiting for him at a nearby hotel for the final touches.
Mudavadi’s version of events has been corroborated by his party’s secretary general Barrack Muluka and Wiper Chairman Kivutha Kibwana.
Internal wrangles
Kibwana and Muluka separately accused Odinga’s ODM party of dominating the swearing in preparations and keeping the other co-principals in the dark with the intention of ridiculing him.
The statements now add on to the internal wrangles facing the Opposition coalition.
A close Odinga ally has hinted that Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Weangula could lose his position as Minority Leader in the Senate to Siaya Senator James Orengo.
