Meet Uhuru's little known brother short-listed for Nairobi Deputy Governor's post

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday hinted that he was considering President Uhuru Kenyattas younger brother, Muhoho Kenyatta, for the position of Deputy Governor.

Sonko's announcement helped attract attention to one of Kenya's most powerful yet little-known individuals.

Muhoho is the second of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta's son with his fourth wife Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Unlike his elder brother who followed his father's footsteps into politics, Muhoho is a businessman who prefers to stay in the shadows.

The 54-year old is the main representative of the Kenyatta family business empire, serving as the CEO and Chairman of Brookside Dairy.

He also sits on the boards of various companies associated with his family, including heritage Holdings Ltd, Mediamax and Timsales Holding Ltd.

The President's younger brother is also reported to be politically savvy and has Uhuru's ear on the most sensitive matters.

Like his famous brother, Muhoho also holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Political science.

He attended St Mary's School in Nairobi and the prestigious Williams College in Massachusetts, USA.
