Leaders from the National Super Alliance (NASA) have started arriving at Uhuru Park ahead of Raila Odinga’s swearing-in.
Speaking at the Uhuru Park grounds, Mbadi said he expects more supporters, ahead of the NASA principal’s arrival at noon.
“I am here at Uhuru Park to check on preparations regarding sitting arrangements and public address system. We expect more of our supporters to arrive at this venue. We expect the Nasa principals at noon. Oathing ceremony expected to start at 1pm” said John Mbadi
Earlier today, Police were withdrawn from Uhuru Park which had been declared a no-gone zone ahead of NASA leader Raila Odinga’s swearing in.
Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome had earlier stated that NASA supporters would not be allowed anywhere near Uhuru Park to avoid a confrontation with other groups which had booked the venue.
Reports indicate that security bosses decided to allow the ceremony as a strategy of avoiding a violent confrontation.
Former Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Miguna Miguna who joined National Resistance Movement as a General, has also arrived at Uhuru Park.
