Legal experts, analysts and other critics have come out to strongly disapprove the just concluded cabinet nominees vetting.

The committee of experts led by the chair, Mr Nzamba Kitonga have maintained that the previous vetting procedure entailed detailed background and intense probing unlike the current technique which he termed as a rubber stamping procedure for the administration.

Mr. Nzamba was quick to point out that party loyalties were evident in the exercise.

The vetting process that has been designated 'inaugural event that lacked the stamina of witnesses' was skipped by NASA members of parliament who intentionally skipped the crucial process.

The NASA allied legislators’ reason for not taking part in the fundamental exercise was ‘they do not recognize President Kenyatta’s victory in the presidential election.’

One Proffesor Maurice Amutabi, a professor of history, cited that the standards in the previous were high, intellectual and broad.

“It is surprising that in the current process, we had instances where the nominees, like Prof Margaret Kobia were probing the committee to ask them questions,” added Proffesor Amutabi.

Ms Martha Karua, lawyer and former minister mentioned there was lack of interest from the public. She said the public have shown lack of interest to the process. Karua contended that the unresponsive move might have repudiated the vetting board the much-needed trust.
