The much-awaited meeting National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga was set to have with Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru failed to take off.
According to ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, this was after CS Wamalwa was called for an urgent meeting in Naivasha.
"There was a little mishap in communication and the CS handlers just informed us that he was called for an urgent meeting," Mr Sifuna told Pulselive.co.ke on phone.
Earlier reports indicated that Mr. Odinga was to meet with Ms. Waiguru, who is the Vice Chairperson of the Council of Governors, and Mr. Wamalwa to be briefed on the annual Devolution Conference.
The Conference will take place in Kakamega and is scheduled for 23rd - 27th April 2018.
The former Prime Minister has confirmed that he will be attending the conference and is expected to make a keynote address on the 24th April 2018.
"Despite the cancellation we received a delegation from the Council of Governors led by the CEO to deliver an invitation to HE to grace the 5th Annual Devolution Conference. has accepted to deliver the keynote speech at the conference," Sifuna mentioned.
