Jubilee Party Secretary General on Wednesday announced major leadership changes in Murang’a County where local leaders have recently been engaged in violent physical confrontations.
Tuju nullified a number of leadership changes that had been made by a sections of MCAs during a caucus meeting held in Kiambu county.
The meeting held at a Kiambu hotel had replaced the County Assembly’s Majority Leader Erick Kamande and Chief Whip Simon Wamwea with Mr Amos Murigi and Ms Wambui Njoki respectively.
Murang'a MCAs fight
Tuju announced that the election of Wamwea and Njoki was null and void.
The Kiambu meeting ended in a fist fight as some MCAs attempted to elect new leaders.
However, Tuju has explained that the MCAs were formally informed that the meeting, where leadership changes were made, was illegal and was held by persons who are not recognised by the Jubilee headquarters.
Kiambu meeting
"The Kiambu meeting is null and void as it was convened by a chairman who is not recognised in the party”.
"If the MCAs feel that there is somebody they do not want in their leadership, they should just go to court instead of fighting in such a primitive manner,” Tuju stated on Wednesday.
The Jubilee Party Secretary General spoke from Murang’a where he paid a courtesy call on area Governor Mwangi wa Iria.
