President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Odinga on Thursday caused a moment of excitement after a US Senator called the two leaders to hug during the National Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel.
Odinga and Kenyatta are among local and foreign dignitaries who attended the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning.
In line with the prayer session's theme of healing and reconciliation, US Senator James Inhofe called the Kenyatta and Odinga to the podium where he prayed for them.
After the prayer, Senator Inhofe called on the two leaders to hug as the guests cheered in excitement.
"We are moving from the handshake to the hugs," Inhofe stated.
"We meet, both parties in the US capital. We eat, we sing, not quite as beautifully as your parliamentary choir, and we pray together," Walberg said.
