Raila gets special recognition

The United States government has briefed ODM leader Raila Odinga on the upcoming visit by former President Barack Obama.

the US Ambassador to Kenya Bob Godec on Friday met Odinga at his Capitol Hill offices where they discussed the planned visit by the former US President.

A statement by the ODM leader said that he had also discussed the South Sudan peace process where he has been helping IGAD broker a deal between President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar.

"The US Ambassador to Kenya, @BobGodec called on me at Capitol Hill sq. We discussed the efforts to restore peace in South Sudan, developments in the Building Bridges Initiative and the upcoming visit by former President @BarackObama," the former Prime Minister tweeted.
