Kenyan content creator David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, has addressed rumours suggesting he is struggling financially.

The reports, which have been circulating on social media, allege that the father of two is burdened with debts.

The rumours started after Mulamwah appeared to reduce the frequency of posts featuring his Mercedes Benz and ongoing construction of his Kitale mansion.

This sparked speculation, with some claiming that his car had been repossessed and that he owes substantial amounts of money to financial institutions.

According to these rumours, Mulamwah allegedly owes Sh35 million to a bank for a loan taken to finance his Kitale mansion, which remains under construction.

Additionally, it was claimed that he has an outstanding debt of Sh2.3 million on his Mercedes Benz, purchased in March 2024. The gossip suggested that the car was repossessed after he failed to keep up with monthly payments.

Mulamwah’s reaction

True to his comedic style, Mulamwah took to social media to respond to the claims. Sharing a post detailing the allegations, he humorously questioned, “Eeeiii! Mumesema 35 million?” followed by laughing emojis.

Despite the chatter, Mulamwah has been sharing family moments with his partner, Ruth K, and their son, Oyando Junior, as well as content related to his influencer and comedy work.

In 2021, Mulamwah disclosed that his net worth was approximately Sh4 million. Given his investments and growth in the entertainment industry, it is likely that this figure has significantly increased by 2025

In 2024, Mulamwah revealed that he had spent over Sh10 million on constructing his Kitale home. Although the mansion is still under construction, Mulamwah said it will cost up to Sh10 million to be completed.

Mulamwah is also the proud owner of a boda boda business, which he runs through a network of operators, many of whom are his friends.

The entrepreneur reportedly owns more than 15 motorcycles, with each operator reporting to him daily. According to Mulamwah, the business can generate up to Sh300 in revenue on a good day, showcasing his knack for profitable ventures.
