Migori Senator Ben Oluoch is dead.
The ODM Senator succumbed to throat cancer at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi.
The body of the ex-Ramogi FM presenter has been moved to Lee funeral home.
Senator Oluoch is among the legislators who had earlier been seeking cancer treatment in India.
The deceased won the Migori Senator seat during the August 2017 elections by a landslide.
He garnered 68,194 votes while his closest opponent Gordon Odhiambo Ogola came in second with 28,696.
The ODM Party in a statement passed its condolences to the family of Oluoch and the people of Migori.
"Migori Senator Hon. Ben Oluoch Okello passes on after a long illness bravely borne. The ODM Party will miss his dedication to the party & commitment to serve the people of the great County of Migori. We condole with the family and the people of Migori. We shall give more updates," the party tweeted.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was also among the first legislators to send a condolence message to the people of Migori and the family.
"JOWI JOWI JOWI!!! It is with so much shock and heaviness in my heart that I have learnt of the sudden demise of Sen Hon Ben Oluoch Okello. I wish to convey my sincere condolences to his family and the people of Migori.May his soul rest in peace," Owino wrote.
