Celebrated journalist Willis Raburu on Thursday shared a poetic line that left questions on the circumstances surrounding his his resignation from
Raburu's poem appeared to capture his frustration with his previous position - suggesting that his exit may have been acrimonious.
The poetic line is borrowed from a popular novel, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, written by American author Stephen King.
The novel touches on the theme of pursuing of freedom and confinement.
"Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go or when you open the cage to feed the, they somehow fly past you."
"And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure," read Raburu's status on Whatsapp and Instagram.
