With the cold season officially with us, comes the aching limbs, running noses and racking coughs.
As unpleasant as that sounds, there is always another way to make sure you’re not hibernating in your bed for those dreadful 3 or 4 days with the flu. So don't lose hope yet.
This simple DIY recipe will surely make you feel a lot less miserable.
Honey, lemon and ginger tea (Dawa)
This recipe is one of the easiest and more common recipes you can use to beat the flu.
Ingredients
¼ cup of ginger
3 Lemons
1 tablespoon of honey
How to make it
Peel the ginger, cut it into small pieces or leave it whole and pound it using a pestle and mortar.
Slice the lemon into quarters or in whichever style of your liking
Transfer the ginger and the sliced lemons into a sufuria/pot and add water.
Place the mixture on heat for about 20-30 minutes on low heat.
Sieve the mixture into a different container of your choice.
Add honey to taste.
*You can add a cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon in the third step to add more flavor to your drink.
