A former employee at the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) now reportedly wants to be paid Sh2.4 Million over wrongful dismissal.

Daisy Cherogony, an ex-security officer at KAA, moved to court to sue her employer after firing her for making Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i queue for a security check.

According to court papers filed in the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nyeri County, Ms Cherogony divulged that she was accused of mistreating and humiliating Mr Matiang'i by asking him to queue with other passengers for a security check.

This happened on April 6 at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as per a local daily.

Dr Matiang'i, who was travelling to Kisumu, insisted on having his way by passing the security check but Daisy could not have any of that.

"He (Matiang'i) did not want to follow the queue but wanted special treatment despite the fact that it was raining and people were complaining," Cherogony was quoted by the Standard.

Cherogony who was a security supervisor mentioned that after the encounter, she was suspended and later fired.

She told the court that there was nothing wrong with what she did and there was no ground for her dismissal.

Cherogony is demanding to be compensated a whopping  Sh2.4 million.

KAA was asked to respond to the suit in 15 days.
