State house official distances himself from controversial tweet that had caused panic

The Senior Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi has distanced himself from a controversial tweet that has gone viral on social media.

A tweet alleging that Jubilee Party stole Raila Odinga’s victory during the August election had caused panic among Kenyans.

However the state house officials has distanced himself from the controversial tweet saying it came from a fake account.

“We stole Raila’s victory on 8 of August and we will do it again. Uhuru must be the President “reads that controversial tweet.

According to Itumbi his tweets are never accompanied by an Emoji and therefore the viral tweet is just propaganda emanating from a fake account.

“You will never see an tweet with an Emoji. You want to try your hand at propaganda? Invest in research too.” reads Itumbi’s tweet

This is not the fisrt time the state house if finding himself at crossroads.

In August Itiumbi differed sharply with NTV’s Larry Madowo who raised concern about the legitimate of form 34A and 34B uploaded on the IEBC website.

Itumbi replied stating that Larry was spreading fake news on very sensitive matters without checking on the facts.

"As usual  spreads Fake News on a sensitive matter. He does not bother to check or confirm. Here the form"said Itumbi

Madowo hit back stating that he got the information on the IEBC website and therefore if its fake, then IEBC must be giving the fake news. He went ahead to question Itumbi’s relationship with IEBC.

“I got it from the IEBC website. Is IEBC fake news? 2. When did you start working for IEBC, or is IEBC a branch of Jubilee?” Tweeted Madowo
