Late Bongo movie actor Stephen Kanumba’s father Charles Kanumba has sent an emotional message to Lulu Michael after she was freed from jail.
Mzee Charles Kanumba advised Lulu that if she wants to have a normal and peaceful life like everyone else, she should go and clean his late son’s grave and plead for forgiveness.
“Lulu kama anataka awe na familia, yaani aolewe, apate watoto wazuri na Amani katika maisha yake, aende tu kufagilia kaburi la Kanumba na hapo atakuwa ameacha kila nuksi, balaa na mikosi hapohapo na atakuwa huru kabisa, ndiyo mila zetu zinavyosema,” said Kanumba’s father as he spoke to Global Publishers.

He added that their tradition recognizes Lulu Michael as the late Stephen Kanumba’s wife because they do not know of any other woman that was in his life and that he wished Lulu was freed without having to serve her remaining sentence term from outside doing community service.
“Lulu anatakiwa afuate tu hayo masharti ya kimila niliyompa, lakini asipofanya hivyo atajikuta akikosa Amani katika maisha yake,” he said.
Mzee Kanumba also said that he was happy when he heard that Lulu Michael had been freed from jail because it was God’s plan and he has no reason to be angry.

“Kila kitu hapa duiniani hupangwa na Mungu na kila kinachotokea ni mapenzi yake, siwezi kulaumu kwa nini Lulu ametoka bali nimefurahi kwa sababu hata angefungwa miaka mia moja, Kanumba tayari alishafariki dunia, hawezi kurudi duniani,” he said.

His sentiments come days after Kanumba’s mother Flora Mtegoa said that she has not been able to sleep after receiving news that Lulu Michael had been freed and will serve a community service sentence.
“Nimejikuta nakosa usingizi na kuumwa presha. Na kutokana na suala hilo, imenilazimu kwenda kwenda kwenye maombi kwa ajili ya afya yangu. Licha ya kuwa si yeye aliyemuhukumu, Lulu alipaswa kukaa hata mwaka mmoja ili roho yangu iridhike lakini ndio hivyo,” said Mama Kanumba.
The actress had been sentenced to a two-year jail term on November 13, 2017 for accidentally killing her fellow actor Stephen Kanumba.
