Matiang'i team reshuffles school principals after KCSE poor results

Education CS Fred Matiangi team in the Teachers Service Commission has conducted massive transfers of head teachers and principals.

The move came shortly after the KCSE results were announced and showed dismal performance across the country.

However, the main aim of the transfers will be to entrench national cohesion by allowing head teachers and school principals to serve in areas out of their home counties.

The reshuffles affected both primary and secondary school heads, particularly those who have stayed in one school for more than nine years.

TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia said a number of principals and head teachers have already received their transfer letters and asked those who are yet to get their letters to liaise with the commission's county directors.

“We have completed the process of reorganising the headship of some schools in the country through staff redeployments in what we have come to refer to as delocalisation. We hope this will renew teacher commitments and breathe freshness within schools,”
