Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has landed a powerful position.
The Senator was on Friday officially inaugurated as Kabarak University Pro-chancellor in a colourful ceremony by the University Chancellor retired President Daniel Moi.
In his new role, Senator Moi will assist the chancellor in conferring Bachelor's degrees, diplomas and certificates at the University.
He will also be required to promote the holistic growth of the university.
The University was established in October 2002 by former President Moi who is also the Chancellor based on his visionary idea of setting up a Christian University that would meet the demand for higher education in Kenya and offer quality education based on string moral principles.
Apart from being Baringo Senator, Moi is also the Chairman of the independence party KANU which he took over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
