Details of Raila’s urgent meeting to be held tonight

NASA leader Raila Odinga is on Friday night expected to launch a new fundraising campaign for alleged victims of police brutality.

In a public notice published in local dailies, the NASA Coordinating Committee announced that they would be seeking funds from Kenyans of goodwill, to assist in the funeral expenses of twenty seven Kenyans who have died in the recent NASA demonstrations.

The committee’s, which is co-chaired by Siaya Senator James Orengo and former Senator Johnson Muthama, indicated that the fundraiser would be held at Nairobi’s Laico Regency Hotel, and would start at 6pm.

“Following the brutal murder of the afore-mentioned by the Police, the NASA fraternity and friends will hold a fundraising today (Friday 24 Nov 2017) at the Laico Regency Hotel to meet funeral expenses of our departed heroes,” the statement read in part.

Police have denied the use of force and claimed that only five people were killed after being caught acts of extreme violence.
