At least five people are feared dead following a Monday night accident at Kikopey area along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.

The 9.30pm road crash, which involved a North Rift Shuttle and a trailer, saw four people killed on the spot while six others rushed to the St Mary’s hospital Gilgil in critical condition.

Confirmng the accident, Kenya Red Cross stated: "Six injured people were rushed to hospital last night by  Narok team following a road crash involving two vehicles at along Nakuru-Nairobi highway".

Emerging reports indicate that one person succumbed to injuries while at the hospital.
