Matiang'i takes disciplinary action against Judge Odunga

Interior CS Fred Matiangi has revealed that the government has started seeking disciplinary action against Justice George Odunga over the ruling that convicted him of contempt of court charges.

Matiang'i stated that the Government had directed the Attorney General to launch a complaint over the conduct of Judge Odunga with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Convicted

The Interior CS complained that he was not given ample time to defend himself before being convicted of contempt of court charges.

He told the National Assembly's security committee that Odunga's order was issued at a time when he was attending the passout ceremony at the GSU headquarters in Embakasi.

"These events have very strict procedures. We do not even carry phones to such events. I only learnt of the order much later after the judicial officer had made the ruling," Matiang'i stated.
