Emotional Mudavadi reveals how Uhuru betrayed him while his wife was battling cancer

The NASA co-principal spoke of the events that happened in late 2012.

NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has now revealed new details on his short-lived alliance with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

In an interview with a local paper, Mudavadi termed Kenyatta and Ruto’s betrayal as one of the lowest moments of his life.

The former Deputy Prime Minister recalled an incident in 2012 when Kenyatta and Ruto drove to his home and promised to make him their presidential candidate.

The deal was later betrayed by the Jubilee leadership, with Kenyatta alleging that “demons” had led him to make the short-lived deal.

Five years after the incident, Mudavadi reveals that the betrayal is still fresh in his mind as it came at the same time that his wife, Tessie, was battling breast cancer.

Fortunately, Tessie responded well to treatment and is now fully recovered. Musalia, on his part, was left in the political cold after he emerged a distant third in the 2013 election.
