"Let us use common sense" Matiang'i's tough message to Sonko

Matiang'i hits out at Sonko

Interior CS Fred Matiangi has now explained the decision to downscale the security detail allocated to Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

Matiang'i stated that his ministry would not allow a situation where a single governor would have 26 bodyguards in an indirect reference to Sonko.

The no-nonsense CS likened the situation to moving a police station to an office.

"Let us learn to use common sense as well. We can't move a police station to your office," Matiang'i stated on Monday.

Last week, the National Police Service confirmed that it had withdrawn 21 bodyguards allocated to Sonko, leaving him with to be guarded by 5 security officers.
