Nyali MP Mohamed Ali has landed in trouble hours after the legislator linked Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru to the Sh9 billion scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS).
In a statement earlier on Tuesday, Mr. Ali named Waiguru among 10 people he wanted investigated over the scam that has since seen 47 suspects arrested and charged.
However, Waiguru has now threatened legal action over Ali for defamation.
Through her lawyers, Waiguru stated that the Nyali MP had published defamatory words actuated by extreme malice and calculated to cause ridicule to her which should be treated with contempt and disdain.
Legal proceedings
Waiguru has now demanded for a written, unconditional and unreserved apology as well as an immediate admission of liability within 7 days failure to which she would institute legal proceedings.
