NASA has now urged its supporters to come prepared and witness the swearing in of Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka scheduled for Tuesday (today) at Uhuru Park in Nairobi County.
In a press statement issued on Monday night, the Opposition maintained that the swearing in will go on at Uhuru Park despite the venue being cordoned off by police officers.
"We advise our supporters to come prepared to stay until our mission is accomplished. NASA wishes to advise supporters to be seated by 7:00 am ready to receive their leaders," Part of the statement read.
Japheth Koome warns Kenyans against going to Uhuru Park Tuesday
Police officers and Opposition supporters could clash after Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome warned that the public would not be allowed to access Uhuru park on Tuesday.
“You have heard several groups want to use Uhuru Park on the same day. Tell them we love this city and we will guard it jealously. We will not allow breach of peace.
“Nobody will be at Uhuru Park because I must protect everybody. If I allow people to go there and they injure one another I will have slept on the job,” Koome warned on Sunday.
Odinga and Kalonzo had warned President Uhuru kenyatta that they would proceed with the oath plan if he (President) failed to dialogue with them on electoral reforms by January 30th.
