Safaricom explains why subscribers are experiencing network failure

Services were disrupted leaving millions of subscribers without access to key services

Kenya’s leading telecommunications company Safaricom has cleared the air after millions of subscribers were left without internet and with low voice and SMS services for the better part of Sunday.

In a statement to the public, the firm apologized for the voice and data outage that was caused by “multiple fiber link cuts affecting critical transmission equipment”.

The outage attracted a public outrage with subscribers taking to the Social media to share their frustrations over tye disruption of services.

By the time of going to press, Safaricom engineers were working to restore services to clients.

Most affected were the Coast and lower Eastern region with a general data unavailability across the network.
