Boda Boda Chairman stabbed by wife for denying her sex

A lady who had just delivered a baby via cesarean section two months ago has stabbed her husband to death. The infuriated woman accused her husband of withholding her conjugal rights, never mind that she had barely healed from her operation.

Harriet Nambi, a teacher in Kaliro Town Council in Uganda, was incensed that her husband had refused to sleep with her despite her numerous advances.

The deceased man called Batera is married to three wives and served as the chairman of Kaliro District Boda Boda Association. His sex starved wife Nambi is a primary school teacher in Kaliro Town.

Despite frequent calls by her neighbor for her to wait to heal after the operation, Nambi turned a deaf ear. The seemingly obsessed woman was adamant that she had to have sex.

According to residents, Nambi lured the deceased to their rented house and started quarrelling with him which quickly escalated into a fight.

The suspect has since been placed in custody.

Violence is a fact of life for the women of Uganda. A study conducted by ActionAid found that up to 70% of Ugandan women over 15 years of age had experienced physical or sexual violence.

This report also found that up to 360 deaths were due to domestic violence. The majority of victims are women but they seem to be increasingly catching up with men in meting out violence and death.
