Sportpesa is known to be Kenya’s biggest sports betting firm following its activities across the sports world, in the form of sponsorships.

However, little is known about the ownership of the multi-billion sports betting company, with most people assuming that it is solely owned by retired Kenya Airways pilot, Captain Ronald Karauri.

Captain Karauri is the Chief Executive Officer of Sportpesa.

The betting firm has marked its authority across the world with sponsorships running into billions in different countries, having sponsored English Premier League’s Everton and Hull City Football Clubs.

Other clubs include South Africa’s Cape Town City, Kenya’s AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia and Nakuru All Stars, and Tanzania’s Simba, Yanga and Singida Football clubs.

According to Standard Digital Entertainment, the multi-billion business is owned by 10 shareholders from 3 different countries.
