President Kenyatta takes action after secret visit to KNH

President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken action after he made a secret visit to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH)

The president who was speaking to the team tasked with regenerating Nairobi city co-chaired by Governor Mike Sonko and Tourism CS Najib Balala revealed that he made an anonymous visit to the National hospital and the state of the accidents and emergency centre was wanting.

He added that the center experiences too much pressure and more emergency centres are required in the city.

"More accident and emergency centres are required. You have to get these centres working,” said the President.

President Uhuru vowed to sack senior government officials if they fail to deliver on the ambitious Nairobi regeneration project.

The team that is tasked with ensuring Nairobi city regains its lost glory promised to equip high-volume health centres and improving trauma services at Mbagathi and Mama Lucy hospitals to ease pressure on Kenyatta National Hospital in the next three months.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s move comes a few weeks after Health CS Sicily Kariuki suspended Kenyatta National Hospital’s Chief Executive Lily Koros after the hospital was hit by a series of botched surgeries and cases of child theft.
