President Uhuru mourns father of Citizen TV news anchor

So sad!

President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the father of a popular Citizen TV news anchor.

In a series of tweets he sent on Sunday afternoon, President Uhuru said that Harry Stephens Kitao will be remembered for his efforts in supporting the education of children from disadvantaged families and his zeal to improve his family, the community and the nation.

“It is with grief and a deep sense of loss that I learnt of the death of Mr Harry Kitao Stephens and I convey my deep sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives and friends. The late Mr Stephens was father to Kanze Dena, anchor of “Nipashe” on Citizen TV,” said President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“At this moment of sorrow and grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the family, relatives and friends of Mr Stephens. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will give you all the strength to bear the loss,” he said in another tweet.

Mr Stephens was also the father to Citizen TV Swahili anchor Kanze Dena and a brother-in-law to Taveta Member of Parliament Naomi Shaban who was elected to parliament on a Jubilee ticket and is a strong supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kanze also broke the news of her father’s demise through her social media pages on Sunday.
