ODM Deputy party leader's plan to take over from Uhuru receives major boost after today's meeting

NASA leader Raila Odinga’s ODM Deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya’s plan to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta has received a major boost after today’s meeting.

This was after elected and nominated MPs and Members of County Assemblies from Busia, Bungoma, Vihiga and Kakamega endorsed the Kakamega Governors 2022 presidential bid.

The leaders who spoke at a fundraising ceremony for Ekwanda ACK Church building project in Vihiga said that it was due to his good development record, experience, maturity and philosophy of unity of purpose.

Vihiga Governor Wilbur Ottichilo who was also present said that Governor Oparanya was fit to hold the top office in the country because of his unmatched expertise as a planner comparable only to retired President Mwai Kibaki.

“If you unsuccessfully vie for presidency you should play a leadership role in opposition rather than be consigned to oblivion as is the case today,” said Ottichilo.

Nominated MP Godfrey Osostsi said that Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula had already blown their chances of leading the country and a wind of change was blowing in the western region.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya promised that he was going for the top seat in the country come 2022 due to persistent and widespread calls from leaders and wananchi from all walks of life and called on leaders to respect NASA leader Raila Odinga.

"We cannot entertain politics of envy arising from fear among some leaders that their opponents get positions created by the proposed expanded executive at the national level," he said.

Governor Oparanya was accompanied by MPs Elsie Muhanda,Godfrey Osotsi,  Justus Kizito Mugali , and Chris Omulele.
