Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

Reggae lovers started to stream into the venue of the event at around 7pm. This was an opportunity for Reggae fans to have a one on one connection with the Rastafarians who were present at the concert.

Jah Cure on Stage

At 2 am, Jah Cure got on stage and wooed the crowd with some fantastic love songs. This was my favorite part of the night. The way reggae fans had ditched their blankets to battle with the Nairobi cold, Jah Cure did not disappoint at all and he was worth the wait.

He delivered a 2-hour stellar performance that kept the crowd jumping on their feet as he sang; Before I leave, Wake Up, Pretty Face, Rasta, All of Me, That Girl, Never Find, Call on Me.

As a treat to the numerous reggae fans that had turned up, Jah Cure brought on stage 6 Maasai warriors to spice up the first set of his performance. He was fully dressed in Maasai attires.

Jah Cure’s band

Jah Cure’s band carried the night with their extra ordinary skills when it comes to handling their instruments. The band kept Jah Cure on track with their awesome skills making him perform for more than 2 hours nonstop and the fans left satisfied.

The MC of the night at the Umoja Splash Festival was MC Phillipo. On the Decks a number of DJ’s kept the crowd entertained among them; DJ Teargas, DJ Moh Spice, Muzikal Sheriff, Dee Jay Dii, Natty Bwoy, Mantel big Boss, Double Trouble, DJ Allad, Stevo Junior, Teddy Jam among others.
