Kenyan singer Jimwat has disclosed that he used to spend more than his monthly house rent drinking in bars.

The singer who was speaking to Word Is on his addiction to alcohol said that he even slept in the bars at the time when his star was just starting to rise.

The ‘under 18’ hit maker revealed that the addiction saw his friends neglect him because his health was deteriorating and he had no money to sustain himself.

“I used to spend a lot of cash in the bar compared to my monthly rent and I also used to spend more time in the bar than at my place. At times, I never even used to go home, since I would sleep on the bar counter," said Jimwat.

The singer who is making his comeback known in the industry said that during his suffering he realized all the friends he had were fake and also revealed that after his works they are now trying to make a comeback.

Jimwat has been out of the entertainment business for a number of years where he has been giving motivational talks to students across the country after he came out of Rehab.
